Chicken & Rice Puppy Food

Black Labrador Puppy in Danish Design Puppy BedChicken and Rice puppy food by Easterbrooks is an excellent, nutrient rich diet for puppies. It is energy dense yet highly digestible and palatable. Young and growing puppies have high nutritional demands. As a result they develop best on a food that is specifically designed to meet those needs. In addition to the nutritional content of the food, the kibble size is tailored to suit smaller mouths. Easterbrooks puppy food will satisfy them now and see them all the way through to Adulthood.

Easterbrooks Chicken and Rice puppy food is a hypoallergenic pet food. As such, we use only Grade-A human consumption standard ingredients. In addition there are no artificial flavourings, colourings or preservatives. Being wheat gluten free and beef free it is particularly good for puppies with a sensitive digestion. Whilst the high quality of ingredients used makes Easterbrooks perfect for fussy dogs. The addition of Salmon Oil helps to ensure a rich and glossy coat. Furthermore, it also provides an important source of DHA. DHA is an Omega 3 Fatty Acid that is key in the development of the nervous system and brain. Similarly the addition of Glucosamine, MSM and Chondroitin help support the healthy development of joints.

Feeding Guidelines

All bags of Easterbrooks Chicken and Rice puppy food come with suggested feeding quantities. Please note though, these are purely a guide. They cannot account for the following:

Easterbrooks Puppy Food Feeding Guidelines

Easterbrooks Puppy Feeding Guidelines

  • individual breed
  • metabolic rate
  • level of activity
  • neutering
  • specific age of the dog
  • sex of the dog
  • ambient living temperature etc

All of these factors will affect how much food your dog needs. No matter how good a food, feeding too much will invariably lead to poor digestion/diarrhoea and ultimately weight gain. Conversely, too little will affect development of growing puppies and the ability to maintain a healthy weight.

Young and growing puppies require higher amounts of food. However, as your puppy grows and gets closer to adulthood, it is normal to gradually reduce their daily feeding amount. This is to account for the fact that their rate of growth is slowing down and will eventually stop.

Fussy Puppy?

During this period, you may find that they start to ‘go off’ their food. In other words they become fussy. This often starts around 6-10 months old (depending on breed). Furthermore, this lack of interest in food can also coincide with their poo becoming a bit softer than normal. In addition, they may also start to poo more often. These can all be symptoms of over feeding. As mentioned before, the feeding guide will only give an average feeding quantity. Therefore, make changes as required in a small and gradual manner.
